HOW TO ENABLE SCREEN SHARING ON A MAC
Screen sharing is a powerful tool that lets you collaborate or receive support remotely. Here is a step-by-step guide to enable or disable screen sharing on your Mac. As a bonus, we will also cover how to record your screen for added convenience.
ENABLING SCREEN SHARING
Open System Preferences:
- Click the Apple logo in the top-left corner of your screen.
- From the dropdown menu, select System Preferences.
Go to Sharing Settings:
- In the System Preferences window, click Sharing.
Enable Screen Sharing:
- In the left-hand sidebar, locate Screen Sharing.
- Check the box next to Screen Sharing to enable it.
Set Access Permissions:
- View the VNC IP Address displayed on the screen. This allows others to access your screen.
- Click Computer Settings:
- Choose whether to allow users to control your screen by request or with a password.
- Under Allow Access For, decide who can access your Mac:
- All Users: Grants access to all accounts on your Mac.
- Specific Users: Select the accounts you want to grant access to:
- Click the plus (+) icon to add accounts.
- Use the minus (-) icon to remove accounts.
